GSTR-3B
GSTR-3B
Goods and Services Tax Return 3B GSTR-3B is a self-declared summary GST return filed monthly or quarterly, consolidating total sales, ITC claimed, and the net tax payable. It is the form through which a taxpayer actually pays the final GST liability to the government for the given tax period.
Where it appears in practice
It is the critical payment return; filing it late incurs a late fee of ₹50 per day [VERIFY penalty] and interest at 18% p.a. [VERIFY rate] on the outstanding tax liability. The standard deadline is the 20th of the following month [VERIFY deadline].
A worked example
A business reports ₹50,000 as output tax liability on sales and claims ₹30,000 as ITC on purchases in GSTR-3B, paying the net ₹20,000 tax liability in cash.
